best camcorder on a budget?

I am going to replace my old dvd camcorder with a new hard drive type, and have a budget of up to £300.

I am considering a Panasonic SDR-H40 40GB, or a Sony DCR-SR30GB, does anyone have any views, experience with these models, or recomend something different.
I really want a camera with good optical zoom, a wind filter, and most importantly easy to download and edit on my pc.

any help, advice greatly appreciated.
