My missus bought me a camera for my birthday, just a little Kodak M873, and driving into work today I pulled over to take this on the spur of the moment

and this one with the "sunset" setting

Any thoughts? Should I crop them closer to the cooling towers, play with any balances, borders etc etc?

All comments appreciated, especially nice ones!

Iain

Nice work. I would crop them a bit to get rid of some of the dark foreground though as its a bit OTT as it stands and it detracts from the good bits.

As a challenge for your photoshop skillz - try and make the original look like the 2nd one, the camera will have applied some pre programmed algorithm and you can probably get a better result than it!

No, its near Castle Donington where I work, Ratcliffe On Soar powerstation, http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&ge... photo taken from the field entrance here http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&ge... at approx 0625. I left home near Chester before daybreak and saw the dawn develop for about an hour as I was driving east.
