Firstly, thanks to everyone that entered, I found this very difficult to judge, If I haven't mentioned you below, it wasn't because I didn't like your pics
.
Secondly, a quick reminder of the rules from my favourite doggie:
Any pics that exceeded this size were resampled in irfanview to the max size allowed, and given a light sharpen.
Plaudits (no order) to: CivicMan (great colour in the eyes), Dan1981 (for posting something different, even though I didn't really like it), HearmeROAR (this is the sort of thing I was hoping for in this comp, but this pic didn't quite do it for me), molly (great take on the theme), paul911 (great pic, nice take on the theme, can't help but feel that some more pixels were needed), AndWhy (most literal possible take on the theme wording)
Special mentions (no order)to: 4hero (amazing pic, but that big buggy eye doesn't seem to follow me around the room like the bestest buggy eyes), Andy M (depth of field masterclass, but the eyes just aren't talking to me, sorry), Slartibartfast (great pic, my favourite animal pic here), Dogsey (yours was my number four pic, loved it).
On to the winnars!!!!1!!
Number three Spyke
Arrrrrgghhhhhh, baby pic, but this one has so much texture in the iris' even though is is not perfectly rendered as some others tried to do, excellent.
Number two Stigmundfreud
The theme was all about eyes, and the eyes in this picture are full of intent, the picture itself is technically brilliant, great pic and the only reason it didn't win is because I am a sucker for shiny colourful spangly things, leading us onto...
This months winner DIW35
Beautiful colours, the cats eye contacts look particularly cool, and I also like the textures captured in the feathers.
Congrats on your win, and I look forward to seeing whatever theme you come up with for next month.

Well done chaps, though we REALLY need to get a grip on this daft 750 max x 600 max rule.
99.4 of internet users will view 970 wide without a problem, and for many of us, even that looks like a postage stamp!
750 wide is just a 1990's thing (When people viewed 800 x 600) or a bandwidth thing that no longer exists for 97% of Pistonheads - as we have broadband.
Stopping people posting at daft 4000+ wide - or at a large file size is the issue!
ETA... apologies for the hi jack..!

Agreed, but unless PH towers are going to reprogram the whole site to get rid of the squish the rule needs to stay imo.99.4 of internet users will view 970 wide without a problem, and for many of us, even that looks like a postage stamp!
