I have a Sony DCR-TRV16E camcorder. I want to connect it to a lipstick cam(aka bullet cam), mounted on a roll bar. The Camera is equipped with ports for LANC (which I assume is the correct port).

Can anyone confirm the above and maybe recommend a bullet cam to go for.

Thanks.

Shawn

I use the Sony DCR-TRV33E with a bullet. I think all the 'E' models will work. The most important thing is the yellow 'analogue in' input.

I use the Sony Hi res bullet which I bought from www.RFConcepts.co.uk. If you ring them or e mail and tell them which camera you have, they will confirm that it'll work (I'm 99% sure you'll be fine).

Getting decent audio is the tricky bit.

I'm pretty sure the TRV16 doesn't have AV in so you won't be able to connect a bullet cam to it.

Camcorders with this feature are getting hard to find now. The last ones to have it in the Sony range were the HC32 and HC96.

BTW, the 'E' just means it's the European (PAL) model and doesn't have any bearing on the features.

apologies... As he says AV in is the crucial bit.

Ok, thanks. Interestingly I don't think it does have AV in but their web site lists it as compatible. I'll email em.

One question though - can the bullet cam run to the S-video with the correct lead do you think ?

The S-video is going to be an output so that won't work either. frown

RFConcepts has a list of all camcorders that will accept auxiliary cams, they need an AV in port.

Just managed to get a Canon MV-6i MC with three batteries, memory card and 420 bullet cam on Ebay for £90 (which I think isn't bad). So I'm a happy camper. Thanks for the help guys.
