Hope you're enjoying it
Father CVP had a 3 944's finishing up with Turbo like yours. I remember it being a superbly balanced and handling machine and plenty quick enough in the real world due to super brakes and the benign handling. That machine and then the 964 that followed helped me get my love the porky product.

the steering feel took a bit of getting used too, mainly due to my total lack of experience of RWD
I'm really enjoying the drive now esp exiting corners sideways
does seem very well balanced.it is plenty fast enough for me, feels a lot quicker than my corrado VR6 did. when on boost it really flies. you're right the brakes are pretty handy (when they are not attempting to set themselves on fire...cooling seems to be an issue!)
old man had a 964 eh?...best shape 911 imo...maybe some day

Mind you he did have a differnent design of alloy to the one yours is wearing. I wonder if yours are not letting enough air through to cool the discs? If i've got it right his was an early one with about 220bhp rather than the later 250bhp models. We both loved that 964. He had it when I was about 20/21 and taught me the finer points of driving in it. I'm no driving god but he taught me to observe and plan, the importance of setting up and balancing the car. There was nothing like driving him about 20 miles to work and 20 miles back having encouraged tuition along the way, very good father & son times.
Anyway, back to the pics, we'll expect to see some more you know.

you're dad sounds like a ledgend, mine cant drive for toffe and has NO interest in cars at all despite (and probably because of) fixing/selling them all this working life!
re: braking, I was thinking the wheels might be a problem, they were optional on the 88 turbo only from Porsche, which seems weird if they are causing the brakes to overheat?! I was driving hard and braking from speed regularly but only for 10 mins or so and not braking very aggressively either. prob upgrade the pads, of that doesn't work i guess i'l just have to but some Fuchs!

Actually he's a cantankerous old git, I sometimes wonder where I get it from
Actually he's not that bad, he did give me my first Nikon for my 18th birthday and he's got a lovely Hassleblad 500CM that is coming my way eventually. Despite his many faults I admire what's he's done and hope to achieve as much as he's done in his life.
He's definitely responsible for my love of all cars. He looks back very fondly on his motoring career. He's been lucky enough to have Alfas (inc a 1.3Ti AlfaSud), Lancias (icn the legendary rusty Beta), went through a Jag phase with the XJ12, then the three 944s, the 964 and finally a 500SL that he still has. At 84 he's decided not to drive any more as he's not really up to it but he's had plenty of fun along the way. I aim to do likewise.
