Took a few photos yesterday. It was a really dull day and I got rained on, and the photos aren't great:

I got a bit arty in Picasa towards the end

You've got some aeroplanes stuck in between the sensor dustwink

I saw it on TV and was surprised how unglamorous and grubby it all looked when flown over a grey Thames rather than some sunbaked desert. Had to turn off when some idiot started interviewing pop-stars.

It's not sensor dust. It's rain. And I haven't had time to erase it.

I didn't (and wouldn't) pay to go (especially in the rain) - it's monumentally dull. The TV coverage uses amazing editing to make it look vaguely interesting. My work is on the river right by the race so I just popped along for an hour to take these pics.

I went (and paid). It is worth going to watch, but a bit too expensive imo. Didn't have enough catering facilities too (some people in front of me queued for longer then the break and missed out on the 2nd half of the entire show and a few others missed the semi's). Definately won't be going again anytime soon, but I would reccomend it still for a one off something to do day.

I'd disagree with that, i've watched it on the TV before and found it incredibly dull. I got invited along on Sunday by a friend last minute and thought it was brilliant. Shame about the weather though. I was in the standing section next to the dome which meant I was right next to the slalom and the point at which they were coming back down from the half cuban. Watching aerobatics at eye level is something you can't see anywhere else, airshows included.

Oh and front flips in a helicopter! madness!

Nice pics btw!

There was a Lynx doing backflips too. Not as impressive as the Red bull chopper though.

Watching the race live is amazing, i went last year and it was so much more entertaining than watching any other sport.

would i ever go again, yes, if the price was £15, but at £45 a ticket i'd rather gauge my own eyeballs out.

some great pics by the way!

We needed more sun and some colour other than grey or brown to get any really good pictures.

My London Air Race pics are at http://public.fotki.com/mobester/rbar08/

woahh 45 pounds a ticket!

I remember when they were free to win on the website. i won tickets for us all to go and watch it at longleat, although that was quite possibly the worst event location ever (trees!!)
