Dont know much about camcorders, but I want a camcorder for filming some motorsport meets in daylight, dont need brilliant sound but must be able to edit on the computer. Can anybody recommend some models that would make a good 2nd hand buy. many thanks.

Don't quite understand the 'don't need good sound but need semi pro' ??

If you want a semi pro camera the you need a 3CCD model. The quality is much better than domestic cameras (on a year by year basis), and they usually have the abilty to fit a decent mic (or suppy one not embedded into the camera).

TBH - modern domestic cameras at £600 are as good as £1200 semi pro 3 CCD cameras from year 2000 (I have both and the new one is better).

As for make... Canon, Sony, Panasonic are the market leaders.
