Hello all.

Now I've never been on this part of the site, but I know that elsewhere everyone's very helpful so my expectations are high here too!

All I need is someone who lives in Yarm and someone who lives in Oxford to take a local photo for me...

I'm getting married in a couple of weeks and the theme for our table plan is various pubs around the country, and the table cards will be pictures of the pub signs.

Problem is, I don't have one of the Black Bull in Yarm or The Oxford Blue in Oxford (between the Cowley and Iffley roads) and I live over 250 miles away from one of them...

Is there anyone who could possibly take a snap of the signs (the one that hangs down or is on a post or whatever) and email them to me?

Any offers to help would be much appreciated!
Thanks to all
Jem

The pub in Oxford is for a group of University friends (we all went to Oxford Brookes University together) and the one in Yarm is for a group of my other half's girlfriends - it's up in the North East of England.

Which one are you nearish to?

I dont live far from Yarm, if i rember on il go down and take a photo next week when im off my holiday. If not, just go ask on the Northeast forum, i know theres a guy there who lives about 20 seconds from the pub so maybe if he's willing he might do it.

Great - thanks Kurt. I went into the Member's map earlier and emailed a couple of guys who seem to be local - if I get any positive responses then I'll put them on here straight away to save you a wasted trip, but thanks for your help if you do manage to get a pic.

Cheers

Hi Ocho, I got your email this morning. I live quite close to the the Oxford Blue in the week, If I'm not too busy after work one night this week I'll have a walk over and take a few snaps smile

I dont suppose the whole pub front is any use is it ? You can screen grab it from this virtual tour,

A nice thought and thanks for looking, but I've got the pub signs for all the others so want to try and keep the theme going. I can't even take a screen dump from here and blow it up, as the angle is all wrong for the pub sign as I expect you saw.

Thanks though
Jem

Stopped off on my way to Sainsburys tonight, got a couple of the sign, I hope they're OK, didn't hang around for too long as I was being hassled by the resident parking Nazis.
