For the second shot, I think I got carried away with the dodge tool, trying to add drama but all I've done is made a mess of the floor. Had another go, I think this one is a bit better, also added in the sky from another rejected rig shot which I think helps;

That's much better - The sky especially makes a big difference

What did the picture look like without the dodging?

I know that the dodging adds drama to the photo, but it does look a bit unnatural - perhaps try some lens flare?

Believe it or not the second example hasn't had any dodging to the ground. The uneven colour is mainly due to white lines painted on the concrete where we were shooting, and now that I look at the original with the rig in place, probably it's a bit uneven due to using the patch tool to take out the rig.

To be honest, I wasn't 100% happy with either of the first two rig shots, but I like the last one!
