So it's raining down your way too then Leighton hehe

Nice series of shots though, really like the first two splashes, nice work!

All those cars in one place - it could only be the Cribbs Causeway 'Motor Show'.

I spent Friday afternoon there handing out leaflets to bored punters for our IAM group. We were next to the Audi area, and the number of people that rushed straight past the RS6 to stare at the R8 was surprising - I know which one I'd rather have.

Oh, and nice splashes BTW - they're really quite good.

Thanks chaps, I noticed that as well Tony, the rs6 was so nice and they are particularly comfortable! Shame it wasn't open and the r8 was! r8 was comfortable but nowhere near as comfortbale as an rs6. Mall motorshow seems to have lowered its standard this year. Last year their was a cMerc, aston martins inside the mall and a few film cars etc, a jag xj220. the best car i saw their this year was either of the audis

Splashes are really nice, but the badge shots? Meh, stand close, open aperture to the max and press the button. I know people seem to like them (as a general shot) but I've never seen the attraction to be honest. It's just a small bit of metal on a painted panel to me.

need to be seen in a wider context to work really leighton, would make a lovely addition to a set of more general pics of the cars.

well executed mind cool

Thank you, I see exactly what you mean and in fact i was going to include in my post the fact that they are not at all compositionally interesting or technically brilliant, i think i am just pleased by the ability to shift focus and choose aperture so freely with my new cam. I will put some more shots up of the actual cars if i think they are worth it, if not ill put a post up after sunday of the ferrari fun day and see if they are good enough for you smile

To be honest it wasn't the technical side, more that I'm just not a fan of that sort of shot. As scho says as part of a collection they can work, only if it's to show the model of the car!

Were you using LiveView to take them? Zoom it in 10x and then focus by moving the camera back a forth a bit. It's one of those features that people dismiss but it's great for this sort of work.

I do use that but get slightly carried away and then the battery level drops at a faster rate.
