Anyone got any recommendations?
I need about 2k of cover at this stage, quoted £62.50 with a £200 excess, how does that sound?

Pretty high - why don't you look at your house insurance to get it to cover listed items away from home.

As suggested, try your house insurance, however if you need specific cover try Photogaurd, just a quick wizz on the site gave 10K cover for £25 a month with no excess.

House insurance doesn't cover that sort of value, usually. Neither does travel insurance for when on-hols.

I'm with Glover & Howe and the service so far has been very good - give them a call.

And avoid E&L...heard some horror stories re: trying to make claims from them!

I use Photogard, no problems so far (but then I haven't claimed!)

Not a fortune, and I couldn't cover my stuff on the household policy as I earn money from its use...

Photo-Shield through Winsover-Howden Insurance Brokers for me. Includes 30 days Worldwide cover too.

Edited because I mis-read your original post.

Thanks for the feedback so far. yes

To clarify, I'd need around 120 days worldwide cover (which was unlimited in the orginal annual £62.50 quote)

Mine does - individual items up to the value of £2k each with no maximum claim. Increased my premiums by about £4 a month I think. Doesn't cover me abroad though as you say.

Another recomendation for G&H, for the reason that their T&Cs seemed much better than the others (unfortunately I can't remember the specifics). Just reminded me that mine is up for renewal shortly too.

Actually, I'll need to double-check mine before our holiday...
