Took the camera along for "panning practice" - glad I didwink

Great day - as mentioned on other threads here, there were a few chavs in evidence (!) but good weather & good racing made up!

Anyway - here's some of the results from my labours. I'm relieved to find that my hit rate is improving - I've ended up with about 100 "keepers" - I took about 400 on the day, so quite chuffedwink

Here we go - as always C&C welcomed. Bear in mind that I have tweaked them in Picasa rather than anything more elegant, as it was late / early & I haven't got time...

Cheers for looking (and I make no apology about posting so many of the 5 Maxi Turbo eitherwink)

You are using too slow a shutter speed. Most of the sharp ones are at about 1/125th up to 1/400th. 1/640th should still see some blurring of the background.

1/20th is waaaaay too slow. Lots of very good amateurs struggle to get 1/50th sharp.

Start high and move down as you get the hang of it. smile

Personally between 1/160th and 1/320 is fine for panning, you should get decent keep ratio at those speeds, but then when you have about 400 shots in the bag, start playing.
