Flickr is great for storing your photos, beyond that its got a lot of good groups but a lot of cliques and it is very and I mean VERY weighted towards the American opinion on things.
There are a lot of scoring groups = avoid
There are some good discussion groups like the Dissident Cafe but at the minute thats going through a b
hing match between two members.
If you want to get hits you need to use tags wisely. I recently rejoined then added tags like "sexy, sensual, ass, arse, titties, buzwams, boobies, breasts" to any shot I had of a girl.
If you use the stats option you will be amazed at what tags get the most hits. I went from 2 or 3 views a day last week to yesterday being 1000+ and thats without submitting to any group pools. Just remember when tagging try to use both English and American words. So ass and arse etc you can use fanny for arse too
brb adding fanny to my shots
ps added you as a contact

all shots tagged with the word fanny = filckr megastar?

oh its a wonderful world of sycophants and sucking up. As said its very American biased so you will find if you want people to appreciate your work you need to select groups wisely.
Another thing, chose your comments carefully. There is no easy way to manage comments you have left. I ended up deleteing my account and recreating it as I was constantly losing track of comments on photos I was interested in due to comments I had left on an image 2 years ago keep reappearing. Some people are group w
es, they whack their shots into about 2000 groups to try and get into the wholy grail of "Explore" so you end up with s
t bouncing back years after you saw it.
Groups as well, choose wisely as its a pain in the arse when you are in 5000000 groups and you only use 2 or 3 and you want to leave the redundant groups

I don't use those type of tags and have featured in explore many times.
One of my Ferrari Enzo images has been viewed 38,400 times.
I've even sold an image of a Porsche to a German ad agency for £1,000.
That all sound a bit like bragging didn't it!, what I really meant was that flickr is a great site.
There are some very strange groups out there though. . . . .

Well I'd imagine that Ferrari Enzo is a fairly common thing for people to search for. I took have featured many times on my old account in Explore but I now purely use Flickr to host shots and to chat to friends. I just found it amusing that adding some tags like I have has had such a dramatic effect. Prior to last week I had no tagsOne of my Ferrari Enzo images has been viewed 38,400 times.

Its a good place, if you do not take it to seriously.
Intresting how many people steal your pictures (which does not bother me to much), but on the overhand, some people ask, which is nice.
Have gifted permission to use quite a few pictures, free of charge and I know I could charge, but at the moment choose not to.
Great for feedback and the most important thing to me, is I get to view loads of stunning pictures by others, that makes Flickr worthwile for me.
