Anyone been to Cuba?

I was working in Havana a while back... There are two Cubas - the new resorts (which could be anywhere) and the old towns. Very different from each other. Endless opportunities for photography! If you stay in Havana, go for one of the big air conditioned hotels like Hotel Inglaterre (which is stunning): http://www.hotelinglaterracuba.com/

Toastgirl and I went a couple of years ago and did a week's coach tour (Havana, Cienfuegos, Trinidad, Santa Clara) and a week on the beach (Cayo Guillermo). If I had a choice of one or the other, the tour would win hands down.

I was there just over a year ago and should be able to dig out some info about where I stayed over the weekend. Are you looking to go for photography, or a relaxing holiday?

I was there last year, stayed in a 'tourist only island resort' for most of the time but also squeezed a trip in to havannah.

Havannah is exaclty as you would think it to be, busy, eccentric and delapidated but with a fantastic buzz in the air.

Would definitely reccommend a trip there, you do however have to remeber that the standards are quite a bit lower than ours and everything is a bit run down / dated.
