Hi everyone,

Thought I'd share some of my better pics from Thursday on here. Taken from Tribune L (2nd part of Swimming Pool - thoroughly recommend it for getting close to the cars and the pits) with Nikon D40 and Sigma 70-300mm APO lens. Its my first proper stab at motorsport photography so compliments and criticism both welcome!

Nice shots, close ups are ace, the one showing the wheels, shutter could have done with being a little lower to get more blurr, but looks like you had a fab time. Could you see any of the crashes?

Nice phots - shows that even a 'cheap' DSLR and lens can produce cracking results.

I've got a Sony A200, and from these shots, I think you've confirmed the Sigma 70-300mm DG APO as my next lens!

P.S. Any chance of replacing the close-up of spanking Mad Max with a close-up of a more spankable pit girl? yum

Unfortunately my limited budget didnt stretch to race day grandstand seats so I missed the action packed race: Thursday practice seats are 70 euros compared to circa 450 euros for Sunday!

Looks like 3 and 4 are from the supporting GP2 race, who do use slicks.

Yeah, at first glance pic 3 looks like a Red Bull F1! The GP2 cars were pretty awesome with some great drivers, only about 5 seconds off the pace of the slower F1 cars

Excellent shots, especially for a first time. as has already been mentioned the shutter speed could have done with being lower for the action stuff but that's it. thumbup
