Forgotten I'd taken it... it's of the church at Loweswater, Cumbria - taken at 6.55 a.m. the file info reports.

Ta. It's atmospheric eh? The shame is you can't see that it's a hill behind (not the sky).

Anyway, I've bunged it up on my gallery.

where was it taken and what time of day? I'd love to get a chance to shoot something atmospheric like this but fear it would mean being up too early and on a mountain in tibet

Atmospheric's the word!!

Has there been any PS work on it? The trees and grass that you can see look almost painting like!

Superb.

As mentioned above (cough) It was at 06.55 looking over towards Loweswater

Taken just south of Mokerkin (there is a track to the top of the hill so you can look down over the valley. Map here: http://www.multimap.com/maps/?hloc=GB|ca13%200sr#m...

It was taken on Aug 8th - and to be honest you often get mists in the north lakes in Summer... but you have to be up early!

this was taken from the same place:

More misty stuff from Cumbria

Tony - just the usual gentle S curve (to darken the darks and lighten the lights). I'll post the original if anyone's interested.

Just goes to show that time and time again it makes life so much easier if you get the right image in the camera and then just use PS to, as you do Steve, just bring the curves closer together.

Love it thumbup

Beautiful. I love daybreak, I just hate getting out of bed. That kind of shot makes you realise just how worthwhile it is. I don't expect I'd get any pics to write home about but I'd still get to see the best part of the day.

GC - you may just have inspired me to do something useful with my weekend (weather permitting) smile
