April Photo Competition Winner

First of all thanks for all the contributions both in the official thread and the chat thread. It was interesting to see how people interpretted street photogrpahy with some nice shots of streets - which I wasn't really expecting. There were some great shots in the chit chat section, especially from scho, missdiane, motorfocus, furtive and iria but none of you entered so thats as much of a mention as you're going to get.
So to the ones that were entered, I think a couple of special mentions
monzaevo, I love this shot literally of a street, but doesn't really do it for me when I think of street photography
urban_alchemist, loved this shot but for me its just a little too blurred, I can't really tell from the shot what the mood was and whether this was a little snatched becuase of that.
The next four were quite difficult and if I could do joint places I would. So fourth place was Blue Meanie and his gritty shot of street life in Nigeria, I would have liked to have been a little closer more in the market rather than just outside
In third place is Neek's shot of the skateboarder,

I liked this as soon as it was posted, with the boy seemingly oblivious to everything except his skate board. Would be interested whether you knew this chap and whether it was staged, or just captured in passing?
In second place is mmertens shot of a couple of ladies chatting with the huge lips.

I can't tell whether their chat is just everyday conversation or if its slightly heated, but I want to know more, I want to know more about what they are chatting about, which I like in photography
In first place is nick_bbb couple in New York.

For me its a great street capture showing the hustle and bustle of everyday life but focusing and highlighting a couple that are just too darn cool for all of that.
So nick congratulations to you and its over to you now for this months competition

Wow thanks very much
I'll have a think for May and get something up, it may be in the morning as I'm going straight out on the beers tonight
The photos of NY did a good job, they pursaded the wife that she needed to go too, so I'm going back with her on 6th June! We are using NY as a base and going to Niagara, Toronto and Boston, Wooo Hooo
Luckily I had enough airmiles for 2 free tickets as my flight was delayed 24 hours coming back from Delhi on work.

An honorable mention a couple of months ago, 2nd place now - must try just a bit harder...! Photography and Video certainly is the PH corner where there is most to see & learn... in a friendly atmosphere, largely uninfected by boring & oh so predictable opinions on politics and life in general...
