Camera broken??? Any thoughts?
Discussion
A colleague at work has given me a Canon 300d that has developed a problem. All the pictures are very dark and have a green cast. Any thoughts what might be causing this? I've reset the camera settings so don't think its white balance or a setting like that. Looking through the viewfinder everything is fine.
I'm not wanting to spend any money to fix it so if it's b******d then I'll just throw it away. Any thoughts of something I can try to fix it?
This is a sample image.

Hmmmn... Looks like you only have the green channel. (rough guess). Can you post the exif data for an image? might help diagnostics.
Try setting to RAW and see if it does the same thing. It maybe the sensor is only recording green, or that the image processor isn't processing it correctly. Using (and converting) the RAW file will capture the output from the sensor before it gets to the image processor, should that can be discounted. Will also bypass any white balance issues.
There are RAW viewers for windows if you don't have the canon software or a copy of photoshop.
