Yeah I know its a little OTT, but I kinda like the arty look of this.

Taken at the Prescott Hill Climb at the weekend.

Probably not the best shot to show off HDR. How many different exposures did you use?

Looks like an action shot so surely only one exposure? Not really HRD then.

Sorry, but to me it just serves as a good example of the misuse of these techniques.

A bit harsh don't you think ? Surely all images and photo editing is down to personal preference and taste, so how can you misuse a photo editing tool ?

As I understand it the point of HDR is to create a dynamic range that a camera cannot reproduce on it's own. This can be applied to any picture. Although granted, HDR can achieve a far better effect with some images more than others, but that doesn't mean you should restrict yourself to near technically perfect images !?!

It does kind of take the enjoyment out of photography when you start applying rules and misuse of photo editing software?!?! Click away.... have fun and see what comes out !!

Probably a bit over the top, so sorry to the OP. But, to my eyes when HDR is push to these limits it just makes the image messy looking, and hard to view.

As I said, I know its using the software a little OTT, but I like the arty look of this as opposed to the photographic element of it. It was a single image manipulation, so again I know not technically HDR.

Its achieved the effect that I wanted on this shot, having seen a few similar shots using Photomatix.

Now to go and try this software on some multi exposure shots smile

Now I'm really confused wobble

Comes across more as a gimic than arty to me, I'm left wondering how the moving car is keeping the spot of tarmac underneath it dry.
