Differance between mmc and sd memory sticks?

[mwg123]

Sorry for the stupid question! i have a Samsung NV7 on order, and on the web site it says the memory type is "MMC/SD card (up to 2GB guaranteed" I obviously want to buy the best quality and sized memory card possible. What would you recomend?

Many thanks

Matt

What I use and where they came from:

Play.com SanDisk Extreme III

Doesn't answer your question of differences but if the camera takes SD cards you can't go wrong with the above.
