dates from negatives

[Roy the Boy]

Hi

I've a box of old photos which come with negatives. The only problem is I don't know when a lot of these were taken. Is there any way of determining the date from codes on the negatives?

What codes on the negatives?

Prints are sometimes printed with the date on the reverse, but unlikely if they're more than a few years old.
