Hi all,

Some shots from yesterdays track-evening run by Dreadnought Garage.

Never been to an track-evening before, the constantly changing lighting conditions certainly make it interesting smile

Quality shots as usual mate, good to meet up with you didn't see you later on or would have given you a quick borrow of the lens!

Haven't had a chance to look through my shots yet, will get to it tonight and post some up.

Is that picture edited at all or is the mostion blur effect just natural? If natural, then is there a technique to getting it right like that?

Great set of pics by the way

Thanks for that, so do I look to do it on about F8 setting then? I dont have an SLR, just a Fujifilm Finepix S6500fd.

Great camera, but am I missing out a lot by not having an SLR? What are the other benefits other than changable leses?

The one pictured above is mine, not the one that was used for those pictures. Not sure what he used.

Can you manually adjust the shutter speed?

Missed this before, I'd say if your happy with your current camera then stick with it smile

I'm not fully read-up on these 'bridge' cameras (so someone correct me if im wrong)... but I'd say, on average, a DSLR would probably offer..
-Optical viewfinder (I believe some bridge's are electrical from the sensor ?)
-Better noise control (DSLRs have larger sensors, normally results in better noise control*)
-Bigger frame buffer
-Faster fps
-No shutter lag (!!!)
-I know you already mentioned changeable lenses smile but this is a really big deal biggrin A lens that tries to do everything from macro to wide angle to powerful zoom will be a compromise....(though of course everything is at some point smile)
-lots more stuff...

The downside is the cost of course smile Not only the initial cost, but the unforeseen costs when you want more and better lenses, flashguns, tripods, filters, etc biggrin

Best thing would be to pop to a local shop for a look and try some out smile

Cheers.

Thanks for that, I suppose I am happy with my camera, but then I suppose if I could see more what I'd get out of a DSLR then I'm sure my mind would change. May go and have a look at a few then. But then I'm not sure I'm good enough yet to get the most out of upgrading yet.

Thanks for the response though, has made me think twice before just forgetting about a DSLR.
