you can get a brand new planar 50mm for just under £300 in nikon F mount. others are more expensive

Phew. And you can get an autofocus brand new Nikon for 2/3rds of that and secondhand for half!!!

Personally, I'm going through a mini-revolution, clearing out a load of lenses so that I can fill my bag with just three or four really good ones that do everything for my needs. However, every time I think of something like one of these or an 85mm f/1.4 or something else that I really don't need my NAS starts to wear me down again!!!! Trouble with selling stuff on Fleabay, you just can't help looking for other goodies

Nice looking Bokeh possibilities, and that price is great for an f1.4

Its not aspherical design though, so prehaps the new sigma 50mmf1.4 when it turns up will be superior wide open, and will have fast focus.
