I wouldn't.

You could pick up a new 30D for similar money just a few weeks ago. Also, the 30D was basically a 20D mkII, so is a little old hat.

Have you considered a new 450D?

Hmm yeah, i did run a thread on whether to get a 450D or a 400D and i think the decision was to wait for the 450D to come out and then get a 400D on the cheap.

There are some good deals appearing already on the 400D, not long to go till they come down even more with the arrival of the 450D. I got a 400D a few weeks ago as decided I wasnt that bothered by the live view and other extras the 450D offers.....its my first DSLR so more than brilliant for me.

Give it a few weeks to see what happens with the deals on the 400D, pop for one of those and spend a bit of extra cash on some nice glass to use with it and a few other essential items to use with it?? scratchchin

Just remember that for weddings, unless you know what you are doing, any amount of top class equipment will not compensate for any deficiency in technique and experience. You only get one chance to get it right.

If it was me I'd be saying no, but I'd have my camera with me so I could still take snaps. That way if they're cr&p you're mates still have good photo's from the pro!.
