Nice shots smile

Really like the first one, looks almost like a montage of different photos smile

Like the composition of the 2nd shot also, might be cool to see a version with a slightly tighter crop ?

Cheers.

There are some good shots there smile

There are quite a few that are half in bright sunlight and half in shade though which I'm afraid are never going to work for exposure frown

Nick, if you've been before then apologies for teaching grandma to suck eggs.

We went about the same time of year as you are going - two things we did which I'd recommend whole heartedly to anyone.

First - bus trips are a good way to see the city - for about $25 (I can't remember exactly) you can get a day ticket to ride the sight-seeing buses an unlimited amount. This is useful for making your way around and means you can get off one bus, have a wander around, and then get on another bus 30 minutes later. They stop at all the interesting places.

If the weather is nice, the buses are open top which just makes it more enjoyable.

Second - a boat trip around Manhattan Island on the Circle Line. There are various ones available, we chose the full monty three hour round trip, which was fantastic because we deliberately skipped an earlier boat so that we were first in the queue and got the best seats on the boat. It helped that the weather was incredible.

Both well worth the time and money I'd say.

Thanks Ben. I have been before acouple of times, used to go with work (Citibank at the time) but I've not been on the boat trip, it's something I would like to do.

I'm going with three mates as we have known each other for 25 years so it's going to be a boys weekend. We've got tickets to the Knicks, a trip to a shooting range planned and hopefully a Burlesque Show biggrin I am hoping to shoot loads of photos too, I'm inspired by Gary Winogrand and Joel Meyerowitz to try capture something about the people as much as the place.
