Can anyone suggest to me a decent walk about lens? I have a 55-200mm usm for motorsport but for anything else i just have the kit lens. Camera is a canon 400D and the lens should be ideal for landscapes and the other usual kinda stuff you dont need a long lens for, also should be good for motorsport when the 55-200mm is too long to use properly. Baisicly a good alrounder (maybe just putting that would have been best) Budget....£200 no more but as cheap as possible, I'd like some change

I second the above, though would recommend the sigma 18-50 F2.8 EX (I think that's the spec) over the tamron. I've few sigma EX's and they are great, well built and quick focusing with HSM. I also have a tamron 17-50 F2.8 (Nikon fit), whilst it gets great reviews and is bloody sharp the build quality is pretty poor, and it's very cheap feeling. I've just repaired it after the front element came loose, but I don't even remember knocking it. The mechanical design of the front of the lens didn't inspire confidence.
constant F2.8 is lurvly though...
