Branching Out...

Interesting idea but I think it lacks punch. It also seems odd to have trees on top of other trees, so maybe try three in a row. It's a bit of a cliche in wallart terms but works well.
ETA the trees are the same shade of grey as the b/g and sky - try experimenting with BW techniques

Cheers guys - thanks for the input.
Simpo- yes I know what you mean by the 4-up layout. I only put them like that so they'd fit easily on screen. I think either a triptych or a series of individuals would be best. Are you viewing on a PC by chance? I ask because on my PC they do appear quite flat, but on my Mac the trees stand out nicely from the background. Funnily enough I even darkened the sky to reduce the difference in shade as it was so much! I'll try again without. My original conversion punched the blue channel up to the same level as the red. I think 80% might be the ideal.
leightonjames - yeah, it's four different trees
I thought the frames were useful here as they added some informality against the formality of the subject being placed squarely in the centre of the frame. Also, without it I thought the sky was too plain as there were unfortunately no clouds. The frames themselves came on a CD with a magazine but I've never had cause to used them before. What is it about them you're not sure about? The frames themselves or their use here?
CivicMan - are you on a PC too? Unfortunately your ooomphing has just created a pinkish bloom in the centre when I view them.
