Godley head , part of Banks Peninsula, protects Lyttleton Harbour which is hte main port on the South Island of New Zealand supplying Christchurch.

Someone thought it may come under attack in WWII so the army built some defences. Real Call of Duty set up there. Stunning scenery but bleak in winter, I guess as WWII duties go its not that bad.

Great stuff. 3 and 12 for me, but as a whole they tell a great story too.

I've been to Lyttleton Harbour - it's not worth protecting!

Have you been to Taiaroa Head (Otago Peninsula?) - there's an orginal Armstrong gun there.

Cheers, yes all shot with the 10-20 I think.

Who knows why it was built , theres a lot more pilboxes and a few more gun emplacements around the harbour, 5 mebe 6 total this side, dont know about the other, wouldnt put up masses of resistanec if anyone realy wanted to come calling I dont think.

Another trip back at dawn should produce some good results too.

I like these, nice compositions and a interesting subject.

I particularly like the "afraid of the dark" one.
