Another water/milk splash inspiration!
Discussion
Mine were taken at 1/250th sec (flash sync on my particular camera) with the flash sitting on the hotshoe of the camera.
I used extension tubes to allow me to get closer and get a decent sized image in the viewfinder. The rest of it was just setting up something to photograph i.e. a glass of water with a source of constant drips to make the splashes.
It was then just a matter of luck to press the shutter button at the right time to capture the resulting splash, which is one of the beauties of digital; you can keep pressing the button until you get a few half decent shots.
p.s. nice shot of the milk, nicely lit and captured.

I've had a go at this too recently. I taped a pipette to a piece of wood and rested it across the rungs on a stepladder to keep it in the same place each time!
1) I emailed this to a few mates asking them to guess what it was - no-one got it right!

2) I'll probably clone a couple of the more wayward splashes out.

I need a faster flash duration to get them sharper so I'll have another go soon.
Those with flashguns will find they can get a faster flash sync speed if the flash is set to manual and powered down (in theory anyway - that's the next step for me to have a go at!

Really nice, shame about the shadow on the second though!1) I emailed this to a few mates asking them to guess what it was - no-one got it right!

After being inspired by this thread the GF & I spent a couple of hours dropping objects into milk
and so far this is our best effort, despite the obvious problems. Had fun doing it though, and learnt a lot
