For once we got a few decent waves last night, and a heafvy ofshore wind, bit beyond my abilities to get in and surf it so poped down with my camera.
Sumner is usualy fat and slow and soft. This is a good 5-6ft and quite heavy for the location, the next bay round is heavy and was 'double overhead' (8ft+) and fast, I didnt pop round there but should have.
Pics on picasaweb to stop people posting them on a kiwi surfing forum which then claims copyright ownershop ( just to make a point).

Taken with a 350d, realy crap 75-300, ~ ISO 400 almost gale force conditions (tail end of a cyclone!).
Balancing falling off rocks shitty focusing and an ISO/apature dilema, soft or grainy...

40 is cool with the "woooooohooooo" crest of the wave arms in the air, and 28 draws my attention when scanning through the page due to the buiding etc in the background...top job
...ETA - 21 too - you managed to get a good pic of something special here, looks like he may be able to walk on water
