Had a prob (still have! furious) with Photoshop last week and ended up phoning Customer Support. Today I've got a problem with one of my printers so had to phone Lexmark.

Adobe:-......0207 365 0735
Lexmark:-....0207 365 2496

Coincidence? I think not. Are there companies who sub-contract technical helplines?

Stick 0207 365 into Google and see what comes up...several different firms on the 1st page alone.

They're probably all in the same building, business park or as you say they could well be sub-contract outfits.

At least they have proper numbers, not the rip-off 0870 numbers.

I phoned up Dell to sort out the new computer (which came with no drivers installed and the Driver CD was blank!!) and got through to Dell Reception. They were trying to contat 'customer support' so I suggested they just pop upstairs and have a word. Turns out Customer Support is 1200 miles away, and technical support another 2000 miles.

I pity the tea lady.
