Can anyone recommend a book on car photography?
Discussion
There don't seem to be any decent books on car photography out there. I bought "How to photography cars" by James Mann ages ago and TBH I flicked through it once and haven't looked at it again since. I think you'll learn a lot more from photography forums & studying pictures you like then trying to work out why you like them & trying to reverse engineer the thinking behind it.
To be honest - the basic rule of thumb is think about what makes the car appeal to you when you're shooting it and then adapt your angles and lighting etc to accentuate those aspects of the car - that way you bring your own "edge" to the pics too and aren't just normal off the shelf style shots - you have to make the car shoot YOURS...
Trial and error as with almost every type of object you can photograph - the more you do the more you will learn what works and what doesn't and be able to adapt yourself to it better in the future

Matt Watkinson on here wrote a pretty good tutorial for car photography, and if his results are anything to go by its definately worth a read.
