Help! Retouching old photos

Here are two photos - one the original and one I started retouching and then realised I need someone more gifted than me to do it properly. If someone could help me with this I would be most grateful. I have two high resolution photos I can email which need retouching far better than I can do it.

Below is one that i have done, is it the sort of thing your looking for or is the effect too dramatic?





It does take ages though, so come back to me if you still need it done after faster workers have attempted it

I don't think it looks too bad as it is.

It's an old photo and looks old, but yet not tatty and in bad shape which is why you'd normally go about sorting it all out.

But if you want some people to have a go at it, I'd host them as it's easier than emailing about.

But I'd leave it.
