New bag or a Peli?
Discussion
I've reached the point where I need a new system for carrying my kit but I am not sure what the best plan is.
At the moment I've got a Tamrac rucsack and a shabby shoulder bag that I got for £3 from a charity shop but I could do with something that can house all of my kit in one place.
I've been thinking about one of the really big Tamrac rucsacks but wonder whether a Peli or similar might be a better bet. The rucsack is about £110 through ebay and I know that Pelis are a bit more than that but think I could cope.
At the moment it is unlikely that I will be flying with my kit so don't really need the added protection of a Peli right now but it is something that may happen in the future.
Any thoughts anyone?

I bought a peli 1520 during last years . . . 'terror' . . . 'alert' . . . then the feckers changed the baggage allowance 3 days before I flew to stop you taking anything bigger than a laptop sized bomb on the plane so never used it for a while . . . but recently I've been using it as a 'lob in the boot and don't worry about it' kinda bag thing . . . they are very good protection wise and I may well take it as hand luggage next week on a wee trip to Canada (especially to minimise condensation issues with the cold - I had ice forming on the D2x's metal case last year in colorado after being out in the deep cold for sustained periods of time then going into a building), however they are a pain in the arse because they are so heavy and relatively inflexible compared to a bag . . . you won't be walking off up a hill with a large peli, unless you're taking man in a defender with you to carry it . . . so I recon a shoulderable bag is probably much more practical unless you need the protection side of things . . . the theft aspect is not lost on me either, but hey, that's why you have insurance . . .

Cheers for the opinions chaps.
I don't really need to added protection at the moment so looks like a rucsack is going to be a better bet for me right now. I guess that if I find that I need the extra protection in the future then I know what I need to do.
A new bag is the cheaper option too, sorted!
