Devon and Dorset Regiment "Laying up of Colours"

[JackGTA]

Went down to the Cathederal Green on Saturday to see the regiment do its final "Laying up of colours" procession before being merged with another, took loads of photos, a few came out, would appreciate advice on what could be done better etc...!

Some really interesting stuff there. Love number 3. Good DOF on all and like cropping on the last.

Eeee...I've gone all patriotic and "rule Brittania" after looking at those

Martin.

My old regiment, TA and cadet instructor, 14 years all told. A sad day.

Some great images. Love number 3, it's the movement in the guy in the bowler hat that makes this one for me. Same on number 5 with that little bit of movement in the arms this picture has a lot more impact than if you had shot it ata higehr shutter speed and frozen the movement entirely. I also like the last one, nicely shot.

Cheers

Thanks for the feedback. I'm fiddling around with a couple making them black and white from RAW and they look pretty nice too...
