I'm off to HK next week so am thinking what should i buy.
I'm using a Canon 400d with battery grip, 18-55mm, 70-200mm.

On my list to buy:
Canon 24-70mm f2.8
Hoya Pro 1 Circular Polarizer 77mm
Possibly a couple of ND grad filters.

Is your current 70-200 F2.8 or F4?

If it's the F4 you may want to consider selling it and upgrading.

the 24-70 F2.8L is a cracking Lens though you may also want to look at the 24-105 F4L IS.

EDIT:

Also noticed you're using a 400D you may want to consider;

Battery grip
Remote Shutter Release
and if you don't own one already an off-camera flash

Other lenses depend on;

Budget
Type of Photography you do

Good Portrait;
85mm F1.2L

Good Telephoto;
300 2.8L IS

Macro Gear;
MR-24EX Flash with 180mm F3.5L
MR-14EX Flash with 100mm F2.8

Wide Angle;
16-35 F2.8L
or
17-40 F4L

Architecture
Tilt Shift Lenses 24L, 45 or 90 depending on the desired focal length

About 850 pounds..

Honestly - it lets you remove the effects of perspective and the vanishing points in architecture photography by realigning the lenses inside. (you can do much the same in Photoshop though I would have thought)

Does a tilt/shift lens not also allow tilting/control of the focus plane too? (always been curious....)
