My excitement of purchasing my first DSLR has meant a trip into eBay world has led to subsequent purchases of a 15mm F2.8 Fisheye, 75-300mm F5.6, a remote... and arriving today (the others haven't turned up yet)... some filters!

Click (must get an account that allows me to hotlink to the jpg)

Now the funny thing is I don't know what I've got (exciting this, isn't it!). Carter frequently mentions not going anywhere without his ND Grads, so I had a look on ebay and bought some.

For £30 I've got....

Filter holders:
* Cokin filter holder with 58mm diameter (for use with Cokin or Jessops A series filters).
* Jessops filter holder with 52mm diameter (for use with Cokin or Jessops A series filters).

Cokin filters (A series):
* A152 Grey Neutral Density ND2
* A121M Gradual Grey Medium (ND4)
* Sunsoft
* Champagne
* A031

Jessops filters (A series):
* 81C Warm Up filter
* Circular Polarizer
* ND2 Neutral Density
* GBC Blue Cool Grad
* DF1 Diffuser

Looking forward to having a play and perhaps understanding what filters are for and why one needs them

Unfortunately the only lens I have with me has a 55mm mount (and the 2 above are 52 and 58), but I hope my local Jessops will help me with a converter / another mount.

Why two holders - are Cokins not "one size" then use a lens adaptor like Lee? And why those thread sizes if you ahven't got that size?

eta - just clocked the ebay bit. Presumably some package deal for all of it together?

One holder 52mm from Cokin, one holder 58mm From Jessops. Both take the same size filters. I would imagine the previous owner had 2 lenses, one of each side.

My Konica/Minolta/Sony is 55mm and Jessops have just sold me a little thing that pops inside so one's now a 55mm.
