A Few pictures, mein the enzo and i need some help!
Discussion
Ok basically i had the opportunity as a 16 year old to go and visit a ferrari enzo with my friend, I was extremely lucky and i took a huge amount of photographs in the process - as you would but when i got back and showed them the photos of me sat inside it they said that looks like you have photoshopped your head in! SO i have a dilemma, the flash on my kodak p880 seems to give a fake look about the photo so i was wondering if there was any way of getting rid of that look. Here are about 5 out of 200 photos
I would of taken even more but the owner was getting slightly annoyed with me so i thought it would be fair to stop. But what a great man! Also if you want to see more pictures then please visit my website - www.freewebs.com/leightonswebby
Im afraid it's quite a rubbish free website at the moment but im a bit busy setting up my portfolio for college to do a 2 year course in photography, yikes! The one i have the problem with is number 4, if you want me to upload more pictures then please ask, im more than keen to show off
:P
- This is the main culprit
Thanks everybody!

Don't worry, it's the weekend most folks are out in their cars taking great photos. I am sure there will be more response come tomorrow.
According to the EXIF data the flash didn't fire on any of the pics you have posted, but I do agree that they all seem a bit "flat". Not sure if you have done something in post processing. I know that I have the similar problem with bright bold colours.
For me in No 4 there is just too much going on. It is very difficult for the eye to work out what is happening between the door, cockpit, and rear flank. Perhaps change it to black and white and/or crop it to focus more on you.
Just my 2p, hopefully one of the veterans
can add be a bit more helpful. Oh, BTW, you are a very lucky guy to get the opportunity

You want to prove to your friends that the picture isn't photoshopped, by photoshopping the picture?

hehehe, yeah i think that sums it up but they say i photoshopped the head in but im photoshopping the head to make it look like real even though it is ( if that makes any sense whatsoever!)

Oh yeah i see what you mean, come to think of it i tried with and without flash but they both have the same white look about my face, i think that is cos i was still in extreme shock ! I was on the verge of passing out!
I like the first shot, the last shot might look better with the same style as the 1st (the car in colour and the background in B & W.
Not keen on the shots of the cockpit (they are fine as pics of yourself / friend in the car, possibly for "bragging rights" but not much else.)
And finally no engine shots????

oh yes, plenty! I will post some good un's up A.S.A.P
I found that you have to alter reality to make it look less fake on the second digital photograph I presented for judging. In my case the perfect mirror reflection of canoeists I had captured looked too good to be true so it was presumed to be an inadequate fake !
I think the "fake look" has occurred here as you're in bright sunlight, the passenger door is closed making the interior very dark behind you, and you are craning your neck around to look at the photographer which has put it slightly nearer the camera - and therefore proportionately bigger than looks right. There's also a lot of contrast in the image and the camera's sensor isn't capable of capturing the full range (same with just about any camera). Having short fair hair hasn't helped so there's a bit of a halo around your head probably due to sharpening either by the camera or in post processing. The white T-shirt is largely burned out which also doesn't look quite right and makes your head stand out a bit too.
I had a bit of a play with different techniques with the aim of trying to balance up the contrast between your face and its surroundings and so make it stand out less. Some have worked better than others !
Using a selective colour adjustment layer on your face and neck first to put some colour into it, I then lightened your neck, increased the contrast in your face, put some colour into your T-shirt, reduced the shadows in the interior behind your head, and finally darkened the top of your hair and your right cheek/chin while at the same time lightening the dark area immediately surrounding it (reducing the halo effect) - that was probably the most effective step. I also tried altering the perspective of the shot at the bottom left to balance of the car's size to your face but that may have distorted everything a bit too much ! See what you think

yeah, that looks brilliant although it is a shame about the quality, any chance of a full size?

I wonder how much Ferrari would charge for a new broom handle to hold the rear clam up?
