Problem Philips digital photo frame - help pls

Bought one for Mrs CVP for Christmas and thought I'd done it and bought something she was really going to enjoy.

We have formatted an SD card via PC and put a load of images from our Africa trip on it, about 175 images so we could take it to show parents etc. These are all saved as jpeg files at the top root directory level on the card with no other files on the card.

The issue is that despite being able to see them all as thumbnails when you turn the frame onto either slideshow or browse mode it only displays about 120 of the images and simply refuses to show the other images despite the fact that they are definitely on the card.

I have no idea what's going on here. Has anyone else come across this issue? Lots of browsing on the web has not shed any light on this issue. Could be that a return is in the offing.

Apart from this I think this is actually a pretty good product with a nice bright contrasty screen. Just be aware that the battery life is woeful at about 30 mins between recharges, not an issue if you can leave it plugged into the mains but could otherwise be a pain.
