I cant see how its possible to shoot glass with flash, without getting a mirrored image of the inside of a brolly staring back at you scratchchin

Hi Bob,

Shooting on white helps to disguise the reflections. You might try a longer lens to ensure you are not reflected in the glass too, and a tripod and remote shutter release for natural lighting.

How about using a single large softbox positioned close to the subject at a 45 degree upward angle.

Coctails and whiskey, Im not having much luck bouncing lights either (getting things in the room in view) - its the most difficult subject Ive ever tried shooting.

Part of me does care, knowing the designer-buyers wont notice.
Part of me wants a perfect shot. Im still trying, and not getting very far.

Just mailed you a link to something off ebay, but having mail server hassles, so in case you didnt get it, will post again here.

Also, with regard to the glass shooting, if you keep getting stuff thats arouns you in the shot, what about, and i know its a bit heath robinson, but you could always buy some white or black sheeting and hang that between you and the subject, cut a hole to poke the lens through, i think that makes sense,,,,it does to me, but i know what i mean.

I dont know if a reflector would help. Ive surrounded the subject in card, and all kinds of colourful objects (including the green wine bottle you can see below) but its proving hard not to get a reflection of the lights (even when bouncing them) in the shot, without putting something between the lights and the subject.

Ive managed this as a closeup. Not tooo bad, but far from good.

I also shot a banana (NSFW)

Spoiler

I could probably use a reflector for this, as getting the lighting right (I know, its miles from right!) was very difficult too, due to its light colour.

I realised you cant shoot glass with light, without reflection, basically. Controling it is another matter.
