Went to the Classic Car Show at the NEC today with the aim of taking a load of shots. Very disappointed with the results. I really couldn't get to grip with the lighting which was pretty poor. I was trying different white balance settings (mainly Tungsten) and bracketing, fixing the exposure on various points and so forth but the majority of shots were poor - out of focus, too many reflections, terrible colour - the list goes on.

Any advice on how to work around the poor light conditions in an indoor exhibition space? Tried some flash (only have the built-in flash on the 350D) but didn't really help - perhaps I need a proper flash gun? Should I have been shooting RAW and dealing with some of these things later?

Here's the "best" of them...

futile i think. poor and mixed lighting which even raw aint gonna help - too many cars too close together, too many people. details are the best you could ever hope for if you ask me.
