My favourite sunsets

straight off the camera - any suggestions?
Submit them to shutterstock. and contact AndyM for the latest hot stock tips. Ive not had my camera to hand during a nice sunset yet, and after killing the ccd of a camcorder once whilst focussing in on the sun - coupled with the horror stories about having ones retina burnt if focussing on the sun through an SLR, Id be hesitant on what I focussed on. That said, is it safe to focus on the sun when its setting as in the first pic?
Bob, I've taken probably hundreds of images with the sun in the frame . . . eg one from the past :-
It certainly hasn't done my camera, or my eyes, any harm . . .
I recon if you focused on the sun and simply left the shutter open for 1/2 an hour you may cause a problem . . . but not for normal exposure lengths IMHO . . .
$0.02, only my experience so if you toast your cam . . . well . . . you could buy a nice Nikon instead, after a protracted session of questions of course ;-)
edited to say . . . and why I read in the first place . . . the sunsets, like some of the colours, and the one with the boat, I recon some cropping and horizon straigthening would help in general, you may also want to look at trying to recover some detail from the shadows, or, change levels so tere is no detail in the shadows at all, the barely visible people are a little distracting . . .
$0.02 (that's $0.04 already tonight . . .)

thanks fergusd, I'll have a go along those lines to see what results, I think at the moment my monitor may not be adjusted quite right so I'll get some printed and then see whats what.
I've had a thought on the ccd damage issue - I guess its much less of an issue for a DSLR as the censor is not exposed - whereas in a camcorder or non DSLR camera it is always exposed

These are straight off the cameras (apart from a bit of cropping) so any suggestions?
