Finally got round to uploading to shutterstock last week even though I signed up ages ago. Acceptance email this morning - 9 out of 10 approved.

Only one not accepted was that they didn't believe that the focusing was in the correct place on the shot.

Having just reviewed the picture - it is pin sharp - it's the amount of paint that had been put on the postbox that makes it look out of focus..

Post the original. The wooden post looks rather soft focus too, and thats not been painted.

I think the shutterstock reviewers are usually quite fair with the photos they accept/reject.

Dreamstime however give some strange reasons for rejection, and accept photos that I can see are not up to the standard they should be.

RE: the postbox photo, it looks rather artifical (sorry); as though the post/postbox has been pasted onto a background...

Dreamstime rejected a couple of my photos last week due to the tiniest spec of dirt under my thumbnail

Another day and I've more than doubled my money... Should I specify the convertible or hardtop option...



Does anyone else check their stats a couple of times a day just out of curiosity. Feels good to have sold something.. From small things...

I still check a couple of times a day, more often after a batch upload

My sales seem to be inversely proportional to my uploads at the moment.

I check probably, 4 or 5 times a day...
