Guys,

I was recently accepted by Istock, and uploaded a few shots straight away. That was a week ago and still nobody has looked at them. How long does it usually take?!

I signed up to istockphoto and as I recall, it took around 10-14 days for my photos to be approved. They are very slow at accepting new photos too, as they have a very small/low limit of the number of submissions you are allowed to make, from what I remember reading.

Off topic slightly, but bigstock seem to have got a lot quicker with their reviewing times. Not that it matters, as I have only made $0.50 in three months. rolleyes

I hope you're joking. $23?!! £12.50...

Why bother? The amount people have been going on about these type of sites, I thought there was quite a bit of money to be made... confused

I make the HUGE amount of £30 per month from photobox... but hey, it's beer tokens. Nobody is ever going to get rich from stock/online photos!

Several reasons:

1) It doesnt take any time at all to upload photos, takes only seconds to categorise them when online.

2) Bigstock used to be better. Unless the go bust, my images could still be there in 10, 20 or maybe 50 years time. So, even if sales crawl at a snails pace forever, I'll still make plenty of money from it (Dont get me wrong, BS does seem to be amongst the worst performers these days)

3) Bigstock could at any time pick up the pace. Whose to say the photos I have there wont start earning me £100 PLUS every month as they are doing on Shutterstock.

4) I also upload because its easy and doesnt take much time. And another reason is because BS used to be in everyone elses most lucrative sites, it seemed to slow down when I came along. They accept most of the images I submit.

I cant complain. If I dont upload another photo there, I'll still end up earning £100 when the year is up, for a few hours uploading. 99% of the work is everything that comes before the uploading/categorising of photos.
