My little Canon Ixus 40's been through a lot, however drifting Caterhams is obviously too much for it. The camera was in my pocket and I managed to smash the LCD screen on (im guessing) one of the rivets/screws on the inside of the car from being thrown side to side so violently.
Does anyone know of a good place to get this screen replaced as im out of warrenty, or do I have to go through Canon?
Guess I'll have to drift a lot smoother next time laugh

I'd lay a 10p bet that it'll be cheaper to buy a new camera.

I don't think so. I can barely afford to pay for the Auto Trader advert to try and sell my car, let alone a new camera hehe. I would however try and scrape a few quid together to pay for a new LCD screen.
There must be a way.

Only suggestion I would have is to scan ebay for a broked one ala http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Canon-Digital-I

and then get busy with a screw driver. Might be worth taking yours apart first to see if it is possible.

That's the problem, I'd guess about £100-200 to get that fixed unfortuantly.

You can ring Canon on
Repairs: 0870 241 2161
Spare Parts: 01782 413 611
to ask them.

Or, ring these guys as they really know their beans.

Thanks for the advice, but I've managed to find a fairly local place that will replace the LCD screen for £50 plus VAT which is pretty good if you ask me.
Their called Colchester Camera Repair Service which is an authorised service centre for Canon and Olympus.
I dropped it off today and hope to pick it up tomorrow so i'll let you know if they are any good. and thanks again.

Well i've picked up my camera and its working fine again. They replaced the screen the same day I dropped it off and at a cost of £58 so i'd definatly give Colchester Camera Repair Service a thumbup.
