Should the monthly photo competition be judged by voting?

Several time the competition setter has failed to judge it in a timely manner, plus when it is judged it's one person's opinion. I think it's time for a change.

The options aren’t nuanced — I’d like the current voting system (as it is on merit) with the popular vote as a fall back.

Nothing wrong with the current judging system - the person setting the subject does the judging.

The issue is people forgetting to check back, and last month, the winner acknowledged they’d won, said they would come up with a subject, only to disappear.

We need a simple system of setting a subject AND judging it when the previous month’s winner fails to adhere to the rather simple rules

If the winner disappears, I'd ask the runner-up to do it.
