What’s this Instagram notification?

Keeps popping up. I’ve searched, done Google lens, and all it says is that someone has tagged my product. I don’t sell anything! Are they trying to get me to buy something?

I've had it a few times. Mainly from an add i've clicked on and they have sent me an offer. The other common one, although not sure if its the same symbol is the 'Your friends want to follow you on Threads' bks

It’s just frustrating that I click on it, and it just takes me to my notifications, and nothing is highlighted to tell me what has caused the notification.

Maybe it’s just a bug.

Yes that Threads thing is absolute rubbish, i know because i checked and they have no idea about Threads either. I't s the algoritymn deciding what we need.

Once Elon gets us all with a neural implant, they'll just download straight to our brain

It could be that it was a spam post that was already blocked/ deleted/ flagged and that’s why you can see anything once you click the link.

however to see if you’ve been tagged in anything, try the following:
- click on your profile (bottom right, little person in circle)
- below the header/ above your pics (should be grid pics/ reels/ tagged) click the ‘tagged’ tab (little person in a square)
- click into any picture, you can then press the 3 little dots top right, and remove the tag/ flag it as spam/ report it/ report the account spamming/ tagging you

I think threads has been such a dismal flop that they are just trying to trick people into signing up to it so they can report some slightly less tragic user numbers.

I have also heard that if you do sign up to threads and it links to your instagram account (even just using the same email), it won't let you delete the threads account without completely deleting your instagram account as well.
