Can I get a Gimbal worth buying for under £50?

'Gimbal Head' - a Must have if you own any 400-800mm Supertele and want to maximise its use . >

Of course you also need one if you're a wimp who whinges Loudly on PH about the weight of your girly 70-200 zoom.

I first bought a cheapo Chinese made gimbal after getting my first 'Supertele' - Canon 400 f2.8 'is', -- at the time [2007] it was either a £600 arca or a £70 Chinese made cheapie, choice was obvious for me ---- & I still use the cheapie -- NB. it hasn't fallen to bits

OOI a couple years ago I saw an ad for a lightweight 'all aluminium' gimbal - I was tempted at ebay's £30 price tag and bought one - it was well made but I was dis-appointed the 'Lightweight ally' gimbal weighed more than my original steel cheapie [1440g against the steel gimbals 1125g] - Duh!!

Here's a pic of my gimbals and homemade gimbal accessories - I also made the lens mount plates, you can see a spare [undrilled] one fitted in the pic.
Hope this post helps those who are undecided.
