I have thousands of motorsports and air show photos taken over the last 20 years or so just sitting on a hard drive. Aside from the odd one I’ve printed, most never get seen. I’m wondering what creative ways people have displayed their photos beyond the usual digital frames etc.

I think you either dedicate some time to sitting down and looking through a selection, like an old bloke with a real photo album sat by the fire or consider uploading them as series of albums and then share a link on forums / social media for people with similar interests to view. Not sure what the viewing figures will be like as everyone will probably have a similar collection!

I have all of my family photos (around 45k) organised in Apple Photos and displayed as a randomised screensaver on my Apple TV. Previously had a Raspberry Pi connected to my NAS doing the same thing, but found Apple far easier to manage

My wife and I have a shared Google photos folder that we both add pics to and that is displayed at random about the house on TV/Google Home screens which works quite well.

Otherwise post the odd one to Instagram and get a regular 'on this day's / random collections curated by Google photos.

Create an account and share them on flicker, they could be of interest to many people. Just need to put the right tags on them so people can find them e.g Farnborough Air Show 2000

I have a few dotted around the house as canvas type prints. These get swapped over every year or so with new stuff.

I have got an Instagram account which started to gather a decent following but you need to be posting quite regularly which I wasn't doing.

yes

Upload albums on flickr or to related interest groups on facebook, facebook upload does tend to mangle image quality a bit though.

I upload albums of motorsport photos (low-res copies) on flickr then share the links to related groups on facebook, end up selling hi-res copies to drivers etc often enough to help the hobby pay for itself a bit.

I concentrate on video, which I post on YouTube. I also enjoy stills, and have started including them in videos, either as a sort of Poundland B-roll or to show detail. Otherwise it is occasionally printing of batches in albums, this via Park Cameras, and putting some in frames on a wall.

I include many as background images on my desktop, which I change irregularly. I include the latest images, mainly vehicles, mixed in with a selection of flowers.

Good idea. Most are pretty mediocre but every so often I look back and reminisce. I’ve eschewed most social media over the recent years but maybe I should make an effort to reconnect

Don't worry about them mediocre, just take a look at my albums, many of them are digitised copies of old 35mm slides.
