Sticky Canon IS binoculars – Sorted ??

Does anyone know if Canon have solved the issue of the rubberized coatings on their Image Stabilised binoculars getting sticky . Apparently for a long time they were denying that it was an obvious manufacturing fault.

I love the binoculars and fancy a new pair but don’t want to end up in a sticky Canon mess again
